Aion Online Pre-Release Review

  Hi all,
  Quick update for you. Ive been online playing Aion straight since I got in. I’ve noticed the discussions about queue times floating around the nets and would like to comment on this situation.
  First of all, I know this is just the WoW Aion Online pre-release and NCSoft is already having some issues with wait times so that is irritating people.     I was just talking about this with my buddy and you know, it is frustrating. That being said, its fairly obvious that NCSoft wasn’t quite prepared for the sheer number of Aion players their servers would be hosting online. They need more bandwidth. Gaming servers are not like your average server, if you are hosting somewhere in the neighborhood of 12000 Aionites each with their own inventory, character variables and heavy graphics load its much better to set them up properly. So its going to take some time, but its worth the wait if its done right.
  One thing I have noticed though is that the Elyos side is loading much faster and queue times are reduced. So if you dont mind rolling Elyo (or were planning on it anyway) you are going to be in game far quicker. From my quick review, well over 50% of the players in game currently are Asmodian(confirmed in Twitterland). So if you go with Elyos not only are your queue times less, your pings are lower, your instances are going to load quicker and the farming is more fertile so you   can lvl faster. Also prices tend to be less for Elyos right now in Aion because competition is less fierce. The Elyos are underdogs right now and people are more willing to help each other out which will help your leveling progress smoother. Probably worth a shot for all you undecideds and frustrated people out there in Aion Online Land.
  Greatest game ever, one thing though, whats with the fungus? Since when do flying Gladiators have to battle….. fungus? Really?
